Textile and Noblocks: the cheapest route between the naira and the dollar, now open to anyone

Noblocks' ramp now runs inside Textile. Move between naira in your bank account and USDT on-chain, in seconds, at record rates, with ramp fees that never pass ₦1,000.

  • Noblocks’ ramp now runs inside Textile. Move between naira in your bank account and USDT on-chain, in seconds, at record rates, with ramp fees that start at ₦100 and never pass ₦1,000.
  • The rates the desks get, now for everyone.

The naira-to-dollar route: NGN to cNGN via Noblocks, converted to USDT on the Textile book, secured by Paycrest's onchain escrow

Moving between naira and dollars still means a P2P chat, a haggle, and a stranger you have to trust to release funds after you’ve already sent yours. The bigger the amount, the worse the rate. The smaller the amount, the less anyone wants your business.

That changes today: on Textile, naira to USDT is one route. Getting the naira on-chain costs at most ₦1,000 no matter the size, and the conversion itself is priced by the market, not by a desk.

Three layers make it work

Noblocks brings the naira on-chain, for 2 bps. Noblocks is a decentralized ramp built on the Paycrest protocol: naira in your bank account becomes cNGN in your wallet, and back, in seconds, with no account to open. Every transaction is secured by Paycrest’s onchain escrow, a smart contract holds the trade until both sides complete, not a company. The fee is 2 basis points, never less than ₦100, never more than ₦1,000.

cNGN carries it, on BNB Chain. cNGN is the regulated naira stablecoin, backed 1:1, and the whole route settles on BNB Chain, where Textile’s deepest naira liquidity trades. Once your money is in cNGN it moves at the speed and cost of the chain instead of the speed and cost of a P2P negotiation.

Textile converts it, at the market rate. Textile is a DEX built specifically for FX. On a classic AMM, a curve discovers the price as people trade, which works when an asset has no price until the market makes one. FX is the opposite: the price already exists, set outside crypto. Run it on a curve and you get slippage and LPs bled by arbitrage. Textile carries the real price instead. Its market makers run bots called Stitch, each quoting from its own off-chain feed, so trades clear at the actual rate.

Put together: Noblocks turns naira into cNGN for at most ₦1,000, and Textile converts it to USDT at the rate the market already set. The whole path, with nothing lost to the middle.

This is the piece that changes who Textile serves. Desks and pro traders were already clearing size on the book. With Noblocks inside the app, a retail user with ₦50,000 gets the same market rate and the same atomic settlement as a desk moving millions. By far the cheapest route between naira and USDT, in either direction, at any size.

The naira is the first currency to get the full route, from bank account to dollars and back, entirely on-chain. The goal is the same route for every currency Textile trades.
