Textile, Ripio, and Celo collaborate to create the cheapest way to move between the real and the peso

wARS and wBRL, part of Ripio's wFIAT stack, are now live on Celo and tradable on Textile. Move between the Brazilian real and the Argentine peso on-chain, settled in seconds, at the market rate.

Moving money between Brazil and Argentina has always meant stacked FX spreads and a chain of middlemen, each taking a cut. A Brazilian real turns into fewer Argentine pesos than it should, every single time, and the person moving it never sees where the margin went.

That changes today: on Textile, the real and the peso trade at the market rate, and the cut stays with you.

Three layers make it work

Ripio brings the currency on-chain, for free. wFIAT, the stablecoin stack from Ripio, the leading crypto infrastructure and digital finance platform in Latin America, is now live on Celo. Its stablecoins tracking the Argentine Peso, Brazilian Real, Mexican Peso, Colombian Peso, Chilean Peso, and Peruvian Sol are supported on Celo, and users can on- and off-ramp at no cost.

Celo carries it. Celo has emerged as one of crypto’s leading stablecoin networks, bolstered by its fast, sub-cent transactions and unique ability to pay gas fees directly in accepted stablecoins. Since migrating to an Ethereum L2 in March 2025, the network has processed more than $65 billion in stablecoin volume and over 1.3 billion lifetime transactions, leading Ethereum Layer 2s by daily active users, anchored by real-world usage in payments, remittances, and savings.

Textile converts it, at the market rate. Textile is a DEX built specifically for FX. On a classic AMM, a curve discovers the price as people trade, which works when an asset has no price until the market makes one. FX is the opposite: the price already exists, set outside crypto. Run it on a curve and you get slippage and LPs bled by arbitrage. Textile carries the real price instead. Its market makers run bots called Stitch, each quoting from its own off-chain feed, so trades clear at the actual rate.

Put together: Ripio gets a real or a peso on-chain for free, Celo moves it for fractions of a cent, and Textile converts between them at the rate the market already set. The whole path, with nothing lost to the middle.

Textile has been part of the Celo ecosystem from early on, so joining the wFIAT launch as a day-one partner was a natural extension of the close ecosystem alignment in making FX more accessible, efficient, and cost-effective. Local-currency stablecoins are what the network is built for, and the real and the peso join cNGN and others already trading across chains.

Liquidity on Textile is supported by institutional partner Tribeca Park Capital.

wARS and wBRL are the first two corridors. The goal is every Latin American currency trading against every other, on-chain, at the real market rate.
